People of all ages gathered Monday night at Salem's Center 50+ to honor the lives of people killed in terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India.
The event brought Salem's Jewish community together to remember Rabbi Gavriel Noach Holtzberg, his wife, Rivkah, and four others who were killed in the attack at the Chabad Lubavitch Jewish center in Mumbai in November.
Among the approximately 50 in the audience were members of the Chabad Jewish Center of Salem and pastors and members of local churches.
Speakers included Les Gutfreund, Rabbi James Greene and Cheryl Owens of Salem's Temple Beth Sholom. Rabbi Greene lit five candles in honor of those killed and led the audience in a reading of Psalm 20.
Steve and Marlene Eichner, of West Salem, were in the audience because of the connection through faith they have to those killed.
