Dozens of avrechim, bochurim, and householders attended a Rosh Chodesh Elul day seminar at the Chabad Ohr Yaakov Ohr Zarua kollel, which is named after the late Rabbi Yaakov Mizrachi. The seminar was dedicated to the memory of Rabbi Mizrachi, who passed away on Rosh Chodesh Elul, 5740/1979. The kollel was established by Rabbi Mizrachi’s two sons.

Rabbi Mizrachi worked very hard to spread Jewish education, whether as a member of the administrative board of Chinuch Atzmai, as deputy mayor and councilman in Rechovot for several years, or as a Knesset member for the Agudas Yisrael party.

Rabbi Simcha Kook, Chief Rabbi of Rechovot, who knew the deceased very well, was the guest of honor.
