Vice director of the Education Ministry, who is also responsible for the construction and development of schools in Israel, Yigal Tzarfati, paid a special visit to the chessed organization Yad B’Yad in Lod. He took a look at its many activities with low-income families around the country.

Rabbi Yaakov Glauberman, who has worked with Chabad institutions throughout Israel, helping to build and develop them, told Mr. Tzarfati:

“Several weeks ago, I met the former director of the Education Ministry Eliezer Shmueli and he told me, ‘When former President Zalman Shazar was very sick, he asked me to come to see him in the hospital. I went in, feeling very excited, and the president made me a single request. He said, “You must take care of the Chabad institutions in Israel.” I felt that this was his final will.’”

Mr. Tzarfati told Rabbi Glauberman and Rabbi Chaim Galinsky about a permit that has been received for the expansion and addition of classrooms to the Chabad schools in Lod and the construction of buildings for the local Chabad kindergarten.
