As part of a special project run by the Yad b’Yad chessed organization, 25,000 schoolbags and sets of writing implements have been given to needy children throughout Israel. The distribution took place via the social services and Chabad Houses.
This week’s launch took place with Rabbi Yaakov Glauberman of Yad b’Yad, the director of Supersol Itzik Abercahan, and players from the Israel basketball team.
Donations are made either by text message or at Supersol stores.
Yad b’Yad, which was founded several years ago, provides help for thousands of low-income families in the Lod Valley region from all backgrounds and circumstances.
Over the past month, volunteers from various companies, including Motorola, Bank Leumi, and others have been packing thousands of sets of writing implements for children for when they go back to school.
