This week, the Oholei Menachem Yiddish-speaking Chabad cheder in Beitar Ilit held a special celebration for its youngest students. The children, aged three, four, and five, were accompanied by their parents. At the party, they celebrated three important events: beginning to read for the three year olds, receiving a Siddur for the four year olds, and receiving a Chumash for the five year olds.
The children, each wearing a crown, began the party by reciting the Twelve Pesukim. On a decorated stage, Sholom Kinnuri conducted the cheder’s famous choir in singing a special Aleph-Beis song.
Afterwards, mara d’asra Rabbi Asher Lemel Cohen spoke to the children and their parents about the significance of this special triple celebration.
The famous educator Rabbi Naftali Roth, who represented the grandparents, received a special certificate in appreciation for all of his help to the cheder over the years. An additional certificate was presented to educational adviser Rabbi Yaakov Feldman.
The highlight of the party was when all of the fathers put the little boys on their shoulders and danced with them.
