The army's Education and Chief Youth Officer Brig. Gen. Eli Shermeister paid a special visit to the offices of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Kfar Chabad.

He was greeted by his personal friend Rabbi Shai Cherbinsky, deputy director of Agudas Chassidei Chabad, leader of the Kfar Chabad Council Rabbi Binyamin Lifschitz, and Secretary-General Rabbi Ariel Lemberg.

The visit began with a tour of the summer activities taking place in Kfar Chabad, including the day camp.

From there, the group toured the rest of Kfar Chabad before returning to the 770 building. There, Rabbi Menachem Lattar gave them a tour of the building and showed them some inspiring videos of the Rebbe. The brigadier general also saw a miniature model of the Beis Hamikdash and the activities for soldiers that are done at 770 on a regular basis.

The visit concluded with a meeting with brigadier general, his entourage and his hosts on various issues. The brigadier general has encountered many Chabad Chassidim in his career, which includes serving as the head of the General Staff's planning department, as an officer at Israel Army Radio, and more, but this was his first visit to Kfar Chabad.

At the end of the meeting, he said: "When the winds of dissension are blowing outside, it makes me very happy to see the Chabad community, who are so involved in reaching out to people, being involved in unity, without any division. And it was particularly symbolic to hold this meeting on erev Tisha B'av, which inspires us to focus on Jewish unity."
