The Rebbe's Advice #908 - Reducing Stress by Traveling

In memory of Rabbi Gavriel & Rebbetzin Rivkah Holtzberg HYD - Shluchim to Mumbai, India

A woman told the Rebbe she had headaches and was all stressed out. She desired to get away including coming to the Rebbe for the holidays. The Rebbe said it wasn’t a good idea because she’ll be constantly thinking about her children back at home, which will increase her stress. Living in other people’s homes, while traveling, isn’t conducive to serenity, especially during the holiday period. A great method for stress reduction is being in Eretz Yisrael, (where this woman lived) which adds to one’s rest and peacefulness.

p. 198 Igros Kodesh Volume 28
Rabbi Dalfin: One shouldn’t conclude from this letter that the Rebbe encouraged people to visit Eretz Yisrael for stress reduction. This woman was from Eretz Yisrael, hence his reply and advice.
