Around 500 visitors, including parents, children, and teaching staff attended an end-of-year celebration at the Chabad Talmud Torah in Rechovot, which is run by principal Rabbi Amir Hertz.
The theme of the party was Hilchos Bein Adam Lechaveiro, which the children studied throughout the year in the form of lessons, a weekly points card, special mivtzoyim, and Avos Ubanim activities.
The children performed in musical ensembles that included the violin, drums, and other instruments on a stage that was beautifully decorated and well-lit. The entire Talmud Torah then performed in a special show called “The Mitzva Train” that included singing and dancing to illustrate the Mitzvos bein Adam Lechaveiro.
The main part of the event was the singing of “Haotzar Hagalom,” followed by the first ever screening of a movie by the students of the eighth grade, who acted very well, along with smaller parts played by other students in the Talmud Torah.
At the celebration, Deputy Mayor Bentzi Sharabi and parents’ representative Eli Betzalel thanked the staff for their dedication throughout the year. Director of the schools Rabbi Elimelech Shachar gave his blessings to the “graduates” of the Talmud Torah, who are now leaving eighth grade and moving on.
The celebration ended with a prize-giving ceremony, at which certificates of merit and excellence were given to the students who excelled in their studies and middos.
