After a relatively quiet summer, grad missiles returned to Sderot. A Code Red alarm was heard this morning in Sderot in the Shaar Hanegev region, followed by two explosions.
One missile fell close to Sderot, hitting a factory. No one was hurt, b”H, but the factory was damaged. This factory was also hit by a rocket two months ago. The rocket was found this time in its yard.
Another rocket fell on a different factory in Shaar Hanegev. Again, property was damaged but no one was hurt. Yet another rocket landed in an open field near Sderot, but its remains have not yet been found. It is thought that the firings were intended for the beginning of the school year.
Several people have been treated for shock.
Rabbi Moshe Ze’ev Pizem reported:
“B”H there has been no damage to any people or property. The Chabad House is continuing its activities and trying to encourage and soothe the population in the hope that things will soon get better.”
Rabbi Pizem added that the Chabad House has launched a huge mezuzah campaign, visiting people in their homes in accordance with the Rebbe’s directive that tefillin and mezuzahs should be checked as a segulah for personal safety, protection, and salvation.
The Chabad House has also launched a campaign to encourage people to put a mezuzah in every doorway and is offering checks to whoever needs it. The Chabad House telephones have been flooded with requests to check mezuzahs and Chabad House volunteers have been working to get this done as soon as possible.
