While the Jewish players and trainers of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team were bentsching lulav, an African American player approached Rabbi Yaakov Glauberman, who had brought the arba minim to the team, and asked him if he could also do the mitzvah.

 

The player explained, “I live in Brooklyn, in the Crown Heights neighborhood and this reminds me of how, once a year, everyone walks along to the house on 770, Eastern Parkway, the house of the Lubavitcher Rebbe …”
