(Chabad.org) Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Menachem Greenberg was named “Person of the Year” by a local newspaper serving the central Israeli town of Shoham.

Greenberg, who has directed the local Chabad House together with his wife Rivka since 1996, was singled out by the town’s chief rabbi, Rabbi David Stav, for his warm personality in an article that appeared in Shoham Plus.

Stav opened the article by commending the work of Greenberg’s fellow Chabad-Lubavitch emissaries around the globe and explained that Greenberg is always there for the local residents in need. Lauding Greenberg’s ever-present smile, Stav noted that he visits the sick, hands out food, and assists Jewish men in donning the prayer boxes known as tefillin.
