1. Elul – Check Your Mezuzos & Tefillin

The Rebbe suggested in the name of the Mateh Efraim that everyone have their Tefillin and Mezuzos checked during the month of Elul. As we prepare for the days of awe, we do things showing G-d we desire connecting to Him. Tefillin and Mezuzos are “Jewish Staples.” Therefore, making sure they are “kosher” is a guaranteed way in meriting a healthy new year, physically, spiritually and materially.
