Hundreds of residents of Netanya attended a special memorial ceremony this week for the shliach Rabbi Nesanel Dreifus, founder of a chessed organization.
The event was held in the Ron Halls in Netanya and was attended by all of the shluchim in the city. Among the speakers were Rabbi Menachem Wolpo, director of Chabad in the city, Rabbi Tzvi Wilhelm of northern Netanya, Rabbi Yaakov Mazuz, shliach of the French speakers, Rabbi Yisrael Elfenbein, Rav of the Chabad Smilensky shul, where Rabbi Dreifus served as Rav, and more.
The emcee was Rabbi Dreifus’ son-in-law, Rabbi Shmuel Raskin, shliach of the Israeli community in Hungary.
The main speech was from Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger, who gave a very moving speech about Rabbi Dreifus, who spoke via a cell phone.
The high point of the evening was when everyone sang a few niggunim that were Rabbi Dreifus’ favorite melodies.
