After the sudden passing of shliach Rabbi Netanel Dreifus, the Chabad community in Netanya decided to name the next institution to open after him. Due to high demand, a new Chabad kindergarten has opened in central Netanya, and it is being named after Rabbi Dreifus.

In honor of the yahrzeit, which fell on 9th Elul, all of the shluchim in Netanya gathered with Rabbi Dreifus family for a special chanukas habayis at the new kindergarten. Rabbi Menachem Wolpo, leader of the Chabad community and head of Chabad’s educational institutions in Netanya, spoke about the late Rabbi Dreifus, who worked alongside him as a shliach for 35 years.

Everyone said a lechaim in Rabbi Dreifus’ memory and recited Tehillim and brachos in his merit. Speakers included his son Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Dreifus, Rabbi of the community of Nordia, his sons-in-law Rabbi Chaim Koenig and Rabbi Shmuel Raskin, shliach in Hungary, his son Rabbi Menachem Dreifus, and his son-in-law Rabbi Choni Yakunt.

Rabbi Dreifus’ friends and fellow shluchim in Netanya Rabbi Yitzchok Teichtel, Rabbi Tzvi Wilhelm, Rabbi Yaakov Mazuz, Rabbi Yigal Parchan, and Rabbi Yair Mauda shared their memories of him. Rabbi Dovid Messas, who worked closely with Rabbi Dreifus in establishing a chessed organization in Netanya, concluded the ceremony.

Rebbitzen Chana Dreifus, widow of the deceased, was given the honor of unveiling the new kindergarten. Members of the family put up mezuzahs in the building’s doorways.
