The Chabad woman who was arrested for "desertion" has been sentenced to fifty days in jail. Her family is currently working for her release.

Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yuroslavsky of Nachat Har Chabad, where the young woman lives, wrote a letter to the Chabad community in which he states,

“I am appealing to you all for a matter of pidyon shevuim for a Chabad woman who has a serious problem and is now under arrest. A lawyer needs to be hired for her release …”

The young woman, married only a month, was arrested after she went to the military police to ascertain her legal status for leaving the country in order to go to 770.
