Around 70 boys from the Ohr Menachem Talmud Torah in Tzefat gathered this week at the city’s main Chabad shul for a meaningful Chumash party.
The event began with an opening speech by vice-principal Rabbi Mordechai Yadgar, who welcomed the parents who attended. Then, accompanied by a band playing, “Sisu Vesimchu,” the children walked in, dressed in capes and crowns especially for the occasion.
The children received a blessing from Rabbi S.Z. Hendel. The highlight of the program, however, was when the children sang a new song that had been especially written for the occasion.
Among those present were local Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, mara d’asra Rabbi Bistritzky, school principal Rabbi Y. Lepkivker, director of Tzefat’s education department Motti Cohen, and more.
Rabbi Yadgar thanked vice-principal Rabbi Simcha Silberstrom, and teachers Rabbi Dovid Khoury, Rabbi Segev Levi, Rabbi Aharon Orian, and Rabbi Y. Horowitz for all of their hard work throughout the year.
The party concluded with the fathers lifting their sons onto their shoulders to dance with them.
