This year, on Gimmel Tammuz, the mayor of Beitar Illit Rabbi Meir Rubinstein visited the Ohel, and while he was there he resolved to give the Chabad cheder Oholei Menachem a new, permanent building that will replace its current location in caravans.
When the mayor returned to Israel, he toured the cheder with the principal of the cheder Rabbi Menachem Mendel Cohen and found him a suitable building – currently under construction and located on Chabad Street in Beitar.
Construction work has now gathered pace as the plan is for the cheder to enter the new building immediately after Tishrei. The new building should suit the needs of the growing cheder.
The Chabad community in Beitar was delighted to hear the good news and the parents are very grateful to the mayor for paying attention to the cheder’s needs.
