For the past few years, a visit to Otzar Hastam, the sofrus center in Tzefat, has become an obligatory part of any trip to northern Israel. This summer was no different, and thousands of people packed into the center throughout the day.
The visitors included organized groups, families, bar mitzvah trips, and more, ranging from the avowedly secular to chareidim. At the center, the visitors enjoy a hands-on view of the craft of sofrus.
On Wednesday, the Police Commissioner of the northern region Brig. Gen. Roni Attiya and his staff visited the center along with the commissioner of the Tzefat precinct Ofer Kanterowitz and Intelligence Officer Dudu Dahan, the Rabbi of the Chabad community Rabbi Mordechai Bistritzky, and lawyer Ran Storch.
The visitors were very impressed with what they saw and they promised to bring groups of police officers for further visits.
