Close to 200 people gathered for the 10th anniversary of the Miami Semicha Program and the ordination of 31 new Rabbonim Bli Ayin Horah.
The Semicha Program was started 10 years ago by Rabbi Yisroel Frankforter with four students. Rabbi Avi Richler an alumni of the Semicha Program and now a Shaliach in Gloucester County, NJ came especially for this occasion. He noted during his keynote address that a growth from 4 to 31 represents an increase of about 500%.
Parents and families of the new Rabbis came from as far as Australia. Friends and supporters of the many programs run by Rabbi and Mrs. Frankforter came to show their support.
Among the many guests, were Rabbi Yeruslavsky, chief Rabbi of Kiryat Malachi, Rabbi Azriel Chaikin, chief rabbi of Ukraine who came to be with his grandson as he received his Semicha, Rabbi Gavriel Schapiro and Rabbi Leibel Baumgarten who came for their sons. In addition Florida's head Shlaich Rabbi Avraham Korf, Rabbi Leib Schapiro, Rabbi Sholom Lipskar and many other local Shluchim were also in attendance.
