Reb Michael Dor, who lost his son in a tragic accident last week, sent a letter of thanks to the many friends and kind people who supported him during the funeral. He wrote:

“I thank everyone who came to the funeral. I think that I saw everyone, and I would like to thank you very much. I unfortunately lost my only son, who was a part of me and a true flower. I will handle the pain and as I said, I am very grateful that you were there for me in my darkest moments and we should only meet at simchos.

“I have experienced a lot in my life, such as losing my father at a very young age. Right now, I must deal with the loss of a son. I have the power to deal also with this, and it is very difficult. I was in my son’s room, who as a Chabadnick wanted to do so much and surpassed me by a lot. He had put away all of his games into bags and in their place he put sifrei Harebbe on the shelves.

“From tomorrow, things are different for me. But I will survive. I was given a special present from Heaven for ten years. I wanted more, but I did not receive it. Last Rosh Hashanah, Avreimi davened the whole time and said Tehillim without me asking him to do so.

“I think he was preparing himself and wanted to say goodbye. … He went up to the Heavens with gold in his mouth, and I am now relaxed. Thank you once again.”
