Madison-based Chabad to sponsor law symposium on 'winning at all costs'

MADISON – More than 500 attorneys and judges are expected to attend when Chabad of Southeast Morris County, based in Madison, sponsors its sixth annual Jewish Law Symposium at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Birchwood Manor at 111 Jefferson Road in the Whippany section of Hanover Township.

The symposium will feature a panel discussion on the topic, “The Ethics of Winning at All Costs – The Lawyer and The Media, Cooperating Witnesses, and Sports Bounties.”

Steve Adubato, Emmy Award-winning Public Broadcasting System (PBS) anchor and author of “You Are The Brand,” will moderate the event.

The featured panelists will include the Honorable Stanley R. Chesler, U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey; Michael Critchley Sr., a nationally acclaimed criminal defense attorney and founder of the Critchley, Kinum and Vazquez law firm in Roseland, and Rabbi Michael J. Broyde, a noted Talmudic scholar and professor of law at the Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, Ga.

A buffet dinner reception will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the symposium program at 6:30 p.m. The cost of the program is $125 per person, $65 for public sector and law clerks, and $36 for law students, and the symposium will provide 2.5 New Jersey Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Ethics Credits, and 2 New Jersey and Pennsylvania CLE Ethics Credits. continue...
