At a sold-out dinner in Albany attended by over 400 attorneys and judges, attorney Yisroel Schulman received the prestigious Denison Ray Award from the New York State Bar.

Mr. Schulman received the award in recognition of his innovative contributions to improving access to the justice system, including the newly launched Mobile Legal Help Center, a state-of- the-art 41 foot mobile legal office and courtroom, which serves low-income communities such as Crown Heights in Brooklyn.

Jonathan Lippman, Chief Judge of the State of New York, delivered the keynote address at the dinner.  In his speech, he stated, "Nothing could be more important to me, as Chief Judge, than civil legal services for the poor, the working poor, and low-income New Yorkers."

Last year, Mr. Schulman, via the organization he co-founded, the New York Legal Assistance Group, provided free legal assistance to over 50,000 vulnerable individuals.
