The head of Kfar Chabad’s local council Rabbi Binyamin Lifschitz visited the director of Magen David Adom Eli Bein on Monday and gave him the gift of the arba minim, which he had brought with him from Kfar Chabad.
Rabbi Lifschitz also invited Mr. Bein to visit Kfar Chabad, where he could see how esrogim are grown. These esrogim are all offshoots from an esrog that was brought to Kfar Chabad many years ago from the Rebbe’s home in New York.
Rabbi Lifschitz also mentioned the close relationship between Chabad volunteers with Magen David Adom and the organization itself. Mr. Bein thanked Rabbi Lifschitz for his visit and said that the relationship between Chabad volunteers and Magen David Adom had saved many lives. He also showed Rabbi Lifschitz the dollar that he received from the Rebbe many years ago and that he still keeps inside his wallet.
“There’s nothing that symbolizes Chabad more than the arba minim,” said Mr. Bein. “The esrog, lulav, willow, and myrtle are all different from each other, and yet they are bound together. In the same way, Chabad Chassidus unites the entire Jewish nation as one man with one heart, with understanding, mutual respect, and ahavas Yisrael.”
