On Motzoei Shabbos, hundreds of Chabad avreichim from throughout Israel attended a special question and answer evening about registering for property in the new city of Charish. A special Chabad neighborhood will be built with the assistance of the Vaad Hadiyur Hameuchad, which is headed by Rabbi Meir Porush, who attended the meeting and answered many questions.
The evening was held at the Talmud Torah in Kfar Chabad with the agreement of Vaad Rabbanei Chabad. Among those present were Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yuroslavsky and Rabbi Mordechai Shmuel Yuroslavsky.
Rabbi Avraham Schwartz of the planning committee of Charish described the construction process. Around 5,000 homes are being marketed there in order to provide a solution for the housing problem in the chareidi community. In the end, the city is planned to contain a total of 24,000 homes and an estimated population of 200,000. Various grants and incentives are being offered to homebuyers and contractors in order to speed up and facilitate construction.
Rabbi Shai Cherbinsky of Agudas Chassidei Chabad emphasized Chabad’s obligation to build the community and create Chabad educational institutions that will serve the developing population. Over the next two days, it is hoped that many Chabad families will sign up to purchase property in the new city.
