For several weeks, the educational staff of the Chabad Talmud Torah in Hadera has been planning a special event to mark the end of the academic year.
This year, the event included a Chumash party for first-graders and a special learning drive that encouraged the children to learn a lot of material.
The party was held in the grounds of the Talmud Torah, and it began with the Tzivos Hashem choir singing niggunim. The students recalled their successful year and also paid tribute to the late educator Rabbi Chaim Yosebashvili, who passed away.
After the Rebbe’s chapter of Tehillim was recited, the guest of honor, shliach Rabbi Yisrael Shanovitz, was invited to speak.
Shliach Rabbi Yochanan Butman, director of Chabad in Hadera and principal of the Talmud Torah also spoke.
After the Chumash party, all of the children danced with their teacher Rabbi Elad Shem Tov. The children recited the Twelve Pesukim before the seventh-grade class presented a moving play about Elisha the prophet and Avishag the Shunnamit, which focused on the theme of developing the potential within each student.
Towards the end, the boys who excelled the most in the learning drive were awarded special certificates from their teachers, the director of the Chabad House of Hadera Rabbi Kalonymous Kupchick, and the vice director of Chabad institutions in Hadera Rabbi Yosef Wechselstein.
The event concluded with the Tzivos Hashem choir singing a song that was especially written for the party.
