From Argentina to Sderot

First-graders in Sderot were surprised on Friday morning to receive Rosh Hashanah gifts. Volunteers from the Chabad Youth Organization’s Terror Victims Project and the Chabad House in Sderot arrived at the school with gift packages, expensive writing implements, a jar of honey, and a letter of greetings.

Also present were Rabbi Yossi Swerdlow from the Terror Victims Project and his friends the Rosenthal family, who are from the community of Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt in Argentina. The Rosenthals were in Israel for the bas mitzvah of their daughter, Dina.

Dina and her family handed out the gifts to the children, and Rabbi Moshe Zeev Pizem blew the shofar before explaining its significance.

Rabbi Menachem Kutner of the Terror Victims Project blessed the children and thanked the staff of the school for hosting the family. The Rosenthals then paid a visit to a family that sustained a direct hit from a Kassam rocket last Friday in a raid that did not claim any lives or cause any physical injuries.

The children of this family also received gifts and danced and celebrated their miraculous, lucky escape.
