Among the thousands to attend the The Republican National Convention 2012 in Tampa, Florida, there were several dozen Frum Yidden from the across the USA but primarily from New York and New Jersey. In addition to local Tampa Shluchim Rabbi Yosef Dubrowski and Rabbi Mendy Dubrowski who were very active in serving the needs of the Jewish delegates and visitors, Chabad of Clearwater, directed by Shluchim Levi & Miriam Hodakov also had the merit of the Mitzva of Hachnosas Orchim.

To accommodate a large group that came from Lakewood, to stay at the magnificent Sand Pearl Hotel on Clearwater beach, Chabad of Clearwater brought a Sefer Torah, Siddurim and Seforim courtesy of Chabad of Pinellas County.

Also very busy at the convention were Rabbi Levi Shemtov, Director of American Friends of Lubavitch in Washington, DC, Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht of Chabad of Ulster County, NY and Rabbi Chanoch Hecht of Rhinebeck, NY and Chanina Sperlin from Crown Heights.

Thanks to Rabbi Shemtov, Chabad of Clearwater's Director and CEO of SHMAIS.com, Levi Hodakov was on hand for the Thursday night convention finale.

While there, Hodakov caught up with Karl Rove a top GOP Strategist and the former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser to President George W. Bush, Charles Krauthammer, the American Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist and political commentator and Reince Priebus, Chairman, Republican National Committee.
