Yesterday, around 200 children from the Chabad Talmud Torah in Petach Tikvah gathered for an end-of-year party at the town’s Sharett Hall.
Rabbi Menachem Sharon emceed the event, which began with the Talmud Torah’s choir signing Chabad niggunimn, conducted by Rabbi Sholom Kinuri. This was followed by the children of Classes Aleph and Bet reciting the Twelve Pesukim.
The Chief Rabbi of Petach Tikvah, Rabbi Binyamin Attiyas, who was recently elected to his position, was the guest of honor. He spoke to the parents about the importance of watching over their children during the summer vacation.
Rabbi Yosef Chaddad, principal of the Talmud Torah, gave an overview of the activities from the past year. He also thanked his staff for their dedication to their young students.
After a medley of songs, accompanied by a video clip of “A day in the life of a Chassidishe child,” the children and their parents enjoyed a play about the imprisonment and liberation of the Rebbe Rayatz, by the students of the Talmud Torah and boys from Kfar Chabad.
Parents’ representative Ilan Tabuk spoke about the PTA’s plans for the coming year to increase and improve the Chassidic content and programs at the Talmud Torah.
Principal Rabbi Meir Bostomsky thanked the staff of the Talmud Torah.
The evening concluded with more singing from the choir and the awarding of prizes to the graduates of the Talmud Torah. Each boy received a Tanach and a copy of “Sippurim MiBeit Rebbe.”
