The current tough economic situation has unfortunately affected many families around Israel, and as Rosh Hashanah approaches, the situation does not get any easier. A recent survey revealed that this year, one in three Israeli citizens will find it difficult to buy food for the festive meals.
For this reason, Chabad Houses around the country are raising funds to provide food for needy families, making even greater efforts than ever before. The funds will then be used to purchase food parcels that will include fish, meat, frozen goods, fruit and vegetables, oil, sugar, and much more.
Social welfare authorities are working with the Chabad Houses to find the families that need the assistance the most. The families will also receive coupons for clothing and shoes for their children.
