Beitar Cheder Gears Up For New Year

Staff at the Oholei Menachem Yiddish cheder in Beitar Ilit gathered at the 770 building in Kfar Chabad for a special meeting in preparation for the coming academic year.

The educators first sat down to a meal. On each chair was a bag, decorated with the cheder’s emblem, containing information sheets for the coming year. After these were read, various divrei Torah were heard on the subject of kosher education.

During the meal, principal Rabbi Menachem Mendel Cohen presented various plans for the year, including a move into the cheder’s new building. New staff members were then introduced.

Other speakers included Rabbi Shmuel Yechezkel Cohen, principal of the Talmud Torah in Nachlat Har Chabad, as well as various members of staff who discussed important issues related to the cheder.

A panel chaired by educational consultant Rabbi Yaakov Feldman and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Hershkowitz, director of studies, presented a new project for weekly assessment sheets.

After the speeches and discussions, everyone davened Mincha in the Rebbe’s room and signed a pan on behalf of the cheder staff.
