Ashdod Chabad on the Up

The Chabad educational campus in Ashdod is clearly on the up. Almost seven hundred children are currently learning in its various institutions.

A fleet of buses bring hundreds of children to the schools every morning from all parts of the city. The campus, which is located on King Shlomo Street in the 13th Quarter, occupies an area of ten dunams. It includes day centers run by Colel Chabad, kindergartens, a Talmud Torah, an elementary and junior high school for girls, and soup kitchen known as “Eshel Ashdod,” also run by Colel Chabad.

At the beginning of the school year, the administration, headed by shliach Rabbi Schneur Zalman Goodman, noted that the number of students has vastly increased. To handle this, an additional floor has been built for the day center, the kindergarten playground has been renovated, and the junior high school has just opened this year.

Rabbi Goodman reports, “We have seen so many miracles each day, and we see how the Rebbe’s blessings help. “
