This week, 28 boys of Ethiopian origin celebrated their bar mitzvah at the Ramat Eliyahu Chabad House in Rishon Letzion, which is run by Rabbi Chanan Kochonovsky.
At the ceremony, the boys promised to continue to follow the light of Yiddishkeit. Last week, they were called up to the Torah at the Chabad House in the Neve Yam neighborhood in Rishon Letzion.
Rabbi Kochonovsky prepared their bar mitzvah lessons, at which they learned how to put on tefillin. During the ceremony, each boy received a gift of a tallis, tefillin, and a Siddur.
